On Tuesday, March 10th, Hubert H Humphrey Human Rights Fellow Athar Waheed will be hosting “Exploring Terrorvictimity: Challenge and Response,” a workshop on the unique challenges presented by contextualizing the individual experience of terror victims as well as victimology and victimity within the human rights framework. Mr. Waheed is the Superintendent of Police in the Police Service of Pakistan in Islamabad and has first-hand experience working with victims of crime and terrorism. Mr. Waheed’s extensive police work has shaped his interest in victimology, especially in the aftermath of terrorism. His interest led him to establish the Pakistan Society of Victimology, the first national victim services organization aimed at working for victims of crime and terrorism in Pakistan. As a Fellow, he is dedicated to learning about the services available to victims who have experienced violent crime and acts of terrorism.
